Winter seriously has no chill, my recent trip to Johannesburg was filled with many adventures. Prowling the arty streets of Braam, stuffing my face in Melville and exploring the many textured and interesting buildings in the biggest man made jungle.
At the moment I’m currently sitting in my vintage inspired bedroom in Shanghai China, yes I know I know, I did mention in my previous blog post that I had some exciting news (does the happy dance), I feel the trip to Shanghai deserves a full length post so stay tuned for that.
I teamed up with one of my besties for this post she has her own vintage store and she’s a ninja of a stylist, she’s currently selling some amazing winter goodies. I will link all the details at the end of the post.
I love this outfit, it’s very practical, unique and has that vintage-preppy look which I’m currently obsessed with at the moment. I’m really excited about this new journey in my life. It is such a blessing and I know I will grow in leaps and bounds.
I know It’s been a really long time since I used this as a platform for communication and you know what, honestly speaking I’ve really missed blogging! I’m an individual who loves sharing her thoughts, creative ideas and passions with the world, almost nothing is off limits (almost).
I recently turned a year older on the 11th of May and for once in my life I actually had no expectations for birthday, didn’t really make any concrete plans, I simply went with the flow. I’m definitely starting to growing up, I’ve always been a planner and a perfectionist, in my head everything has to be perfect. I’m learning that sometimes you need to just relax and let life happen and simply enjoy the little moments.
This outfit describes my current thought process, simply living and outwardly expressing my emotions wholeheartedly. You will never see me not wearing any color, it’s almost unheard of! This outfit was a last minute mash-up for my dear friends baby shower, the dress code was “black and white with a touch of gold”. This was honestly the best I could come up with while sticking to my personal style (vintage-boho chic). I’m currently obsessed with the bell sleeve trend. My faux leather skirt adds a chic, edgy, elegant and sophisticated touch to the overall look.
The braids were inspired by one of my favorite French bloggers and I personally think my hair stylist did an exceptional job. This is the perfect girl boss combo, a really chic outfit and (dope) warrior inspired hair do.
My word of encouragement for this month is: Always be a girl boss, you’re the leading lady of your life, you call the shots, make and sometimes break your own rules.
In the spirit of Mother’s Day I want to acknowledge three really incredible and important girl bosses in my life. My Mother, Grandmother (Mamati) and Aunt, your prayers, guidance, strict mantra and philosophy in raising me up have created a God fearing, woman who at times deemed herself unworthy, but is confidently walking towards the path God mapped out for her. You have enriched my life with love, I’m truly blessed enkosi (thank you).
Does this new post mean that I’m back and ready to slay this blogging thing? The answer is yes, your girl is back, my bounce is back, your girl is back (cue Change Clothes by Jay Z).
With all that being said I have some really exciting news stay tuned…
Yours in new beginnings, peace, love and happiness.
