Hello Readers

Imagine your prowling through the streets of Paris it’s close to mid night and you have been dancing your feet silly the whole night. Everything is bright and beautiful the sound of the cars speeding by, the Eiffel Tower lighting up the sky, the endless trees along the side walk.

There’s a man playing a guitar and a tall handsome stranger his french of course grabs you by the hand and you waltz on the cobble stone streets, he spins you around you feel silly and overwhelmed at first and you finally catch the rhythm.

Paris is always a good idea. Don’t you just love the flapper era the fluidity of the dresses, the interesting head gear and just the high energy that came with the 1920s.

This particular photo shoot was taken by my ever so talented friend Christine Visser  the location was St Georges Park in Port Elizabeth, there are so many amazing little spots so do some amazing editorials.

That’s it for now from me, did my first editorial photo shoot for a friends fashion line can’t wait to share the images.

Peace. Love. Happiness

God Bless

iMAGE SLOT .pngHello Readers

This is basically me in words i could go on but i won’t…

Big hair occasionally (not after a wash thou), gap toothed call it what you may but if you must label it, an eruption of awesomeness spewing from my head, a breath of air between my pearly whites. My name means ‘our joy’ so without a doubt you will never catch me without a smile, my smile defines and enhances my many features, it’s an indication of my soul. Bright and beautiful.

My interest are people, we live in a world with too many people don’t care to know about how another suffers in silence. I hope to assistance in uplifting, re-building and re-branding communities around the globe.

Art is my life, it’s a portal that I’ve utilized to escape the jaded reality that is life. Art is the only magic left in this world, I’m learning as many tricks as I can. Creating love and inspiring future generations leaving behind a mark and a legacy letting Art simply be.

I read way too many books I’m afraid I would not have utilized enough of my time to get through every African literature book, Auto Biography of our African Leaders, Charles Dickens novels, C.S Lewis quotes… you catch my drift I love stories.

I love cultures and mine in particular (Xhosa, Swazi… the list is endless) I live for stories and dreams I’m a dreamer and I’m enticed by the people of my country. Africa their innate ability to keep moving with a smile on their faces, despite not knowing what tomorrow holds.

Their beauty the various hues of our skin, their tribal marks which trace down generations of when cultures emerged. Their diversity, their passion to sing and dance to the vibrations that live with in Africa’s people.

We are not defined by poverty but we are birthed into love natured into hope and driven by Grace and Faith. Living with in the world but living for Christ.

I love God He died not just for me but for you so that we may have life and have it abundantly. Being born again is the greatest decision I have made, being led by Christ and allowing Him to work with in me is a journey with many pit stops and realisations along the way. Season after season I will draw closer to you Father.

Thank you for all that he has blessed me with, I’m living proof that my circumstances should never be given the satisfaction of defining who I am as an individual. The sky is my witness, the land is my home, and the world is my portal to many journeys yet to be discovered. The more places I go the more I discover God’s grace and his talent.

Hello readers

Would you care to take a trip down the 40s with me…

You have travelled back into time and you’ve been invited to one of the most prestigious tea time parties, it’s an afternoon do in the summer think back to the Charleston in America during the 40s let’s say it’s 1948.

As you walk past the grand room towards the courtyard your eyes fall on the beautiful fountain right in the centre of the courtyard. There a massive grand piano with classic tunes floating in the air.

It seems so surreal the endless tables of tea time treats, the trays of champagne passing you by, couples waltzing in between you as you laugh at the clown trying to juggle balls on a stick pole.

As you can see I have quite an inventive imagination I really sit and pick my clothing dreaming of scenarios from various era, some say I was born way too late. I simply say it’s never too late to waltz through the fragments of your mind.

Hello Readers

Imagine you’re in Spain in the middle of the summer’s day, sun glaring in your face, you hear the rumbling beneath your feet and a raging stampede of bulls the thrill, the excitement, the danger.

Let’s get real thou I would not be caught alive anywhere new a pack of angry bulls but this editorial was inspired by Spain and the matadors. I’m all up for adventure as long as it does not involve risking my life.

The graffiti wall behind me takes me to the small narrow cobble stone streets of Barcelona the markets, the street performers, the old colourful and beautiful vintage architecture, like a love story abroad.

I’ve had the honour of working with Christine  Visser please follow the link and check out her amazing work. She’s one of my favourite photographers.

This shoot even though it was taken several years ago still remains to this day as one of my favourite shoots.

I plan on shooting a lot more fashion editorials inspired by my travels, my cultures and the various fashion eras. I can’t wait to get my creative juices flowing to produce some exciting content for the blog.

This is just a little teaser of what’s to come.

Peace and Love

God Bless
